I didn't say that subsidies cause money to be spent wisely.  To the contrary, I 
was agreeing that the subsidies caused overconsumption.  So if we agree that 
expenditures induced by subsidy will not increase desired outcomes (unless you 
want to say that overconsumption is the desired outcome, which I assume you 
don't because you are not a real estate developer, health care provider or a 
member of a teacher's union), can we not agree that the subsidies are a bad 
idea?
