I don't think she meant that comment in that way. Arundhati Roy is too
smart not to realize that over-consumption is closely related to the
overall growth and accumulation dynamic.

I like that quote because if we begin deconstructing that little
phrase, a bigger truth emerges. It is not about how much someone eats.
It is about how much goes into what someone eats. And drinks (and
drives and works etc). And how ridiculously wasteful, unhealthy,
barbaric, alienating etc it all is...
