That may be true in this instance, but in general, it is a big, big mistake to accept authority of any sort without question. Isn't this what neo-classical economists crave? For people to unquestioningly accept what they preach because, after all, they are the experts on economic questions. Shouldn't that example alone alert us to the dangers here? As I said before, thinking men and women have a responsibility to study and evaluate scientific claims before accepting them. This is not easy because, of course, it takes time and effort to learn about something as complex as climate science.
