there was a diplomatic initiative a year or so ago, led (as I
understand it) by Saudi Arabia, trying to get Arab countries to
recognize Israel diplomatically -- in exchange for something like
Israel being restricted to its pre-1967 boundaries. This restriction
would be more than formal.
