With respect to whether the form of exchange in socialism should
according to Marx be based labor time, is his implication , if not
explicit statement that it is "each according to work" in socialism ?
For Marx there is a transitional first phase of Communism, which is
not "each according to need". I look at Critique of the Gotha
Programme, but I think there or somewhere there is mention of a notion
of labor chits or somesuch.

There is still surplus value extracted from the workers , but it goes
to a social fund, not to the accumulation of private capital.
Continuing to measure value based on work time is a basis for
cost-accounting for overall planning , etc., no ? Labor theory of
value continues as a measuring mechanism.
