Again: Michael, I have to make sense why you would chastise me only and not Angelus though Angelus positively insulted me in rather harsh terms while I only challenged him to read carefully and argue well. You have a double standard in regards to me. I am pretty sure I know why.
I criticized Proyect for falsely informing us that Acemoglu and Robinson ignore colonialism. They do not; they have a whole chapter devoted to it and apartheid. To be sure, they disturbingly ignore in the book (though not on their blog) US support for repressive elites in Guatemala and Mugabe Sese Seko. But one cannot jump from that to the accusation that they ignore colonialism. And there are good reasons to emphasize the internal class dynamics of a society. Brenner would do the same.
