YOU may be a "progressive" (if you're happy with a label devised for
the unspeakable Theodore Roosevelt) but PEN-L and "elsewhere" are for
radicals in the socialist/communist tradition. And nobody in that
tradition (anarchists excepted) favors electoral abstentionism. And
that means electoral participation, wherever possible, AGAINST the
political representatives, no matter what color they hide under, of
the oppressor classes. As for "progressives," we don't give a flying
fuck what they do, because they mean nothing.
And yes, "the government," is a key part of the capitalist state--and
the capitalist state, as organized ruling-class violence, is indeed
the "ENEMY."
