What's filtered is a link between anti-war and anti-US casualties.
The jingoists try very hard to protect their franchise in grief,
for good reason.  It's their best among an array of shitty arguments.

US public opinion is one big monolithic bloc? Sure there's a hardcore
that doesn't give a shit - and probably even a harder core that's
happy to see hundreds of thousands of Iraqis die - but I'm pretty
sure there are a lot of people who just don't know, because it's been
effectively kept from them. Aren't you bloggers supposed to be
circumventing the media filters?
