good to see you online again!
w.r.t the wiki: i will leave it to you folks to determine the
content,rules and moderation, with the one caveat that given recent laws
that tend to help content hosters responsible for content, i may have to
exercise some caution, but i expect this will be easy since i am sure
all of you will remove/rewrite content that may land me in jail! ;-) an
alternative is that one of our resident academics may be able to host
the service for us as an academic project. we could donate the server
and help maintain the software.
i am still waiting to hear from you folks on a good domain name.
assuming there is still interest, i will setup, over the next week,
three different flavours of servers: a blog system, a wiki, and a
complete website. the latter will have blog and wiki capabiliies
built-in (then why do the first two at all? the website's blog/wiki
capabilities may not be as powerful as the standalone systems). i will
publish details to this list and all of you can start playing around
with it.
if it turns out successfuly, i may call for some additional help from
resident geeks.
