We are using mysql to manage our database. In my personal opinion both
SQLs are good. It is just you have to do some studies of your
requirements. What is the size of your database, how your table is going
to be like. If the size of your database is not reaching 100,000++ then I
think mysql is fair enough. More, I easily link the mysql tables to PHP/FI
so that I can do adding, modifying and deleting thru web browser, just like
khai's rindunet profile. Since mysql is a server, you can always do your
editing and accounting remotely and securely. I have not try PostgreSql
with PHP/FI but you can always give a shot. If the school a rich enough,
try oracle for linux.
