Ali: Efforts to explain issues well received
KOTA BARU: Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam is
confident that the ongoing efforts to explain current political
issues have been well received by the grassroots.
He called on members to close ranks as the next general election was
looming.
"Umno often has internal differences, it is normal in a democracy-
practising party.
"But we have the reputation of closing ranks and I am calling for it
now," Mohd Ali said before joining the Pengkalan Chepa Umno division
in declaring its unreserved support and loyalty to Datuk Seri
Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as Prime Minister and Umno president.
Among those present were division head Datuk Dr Nik Mohd Zain Omar,
deputy Che Rosli Hassan and vice-head Rahim Mohd Zain.
Mohd Ali said divisions could invite any supreme council member to
clarify issues emerging from the perceived rift between Abdullah and
Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He urged Kelantan divisions to come together and help deflect issues
being exploited by the opposition.
He said the state Umno must redouble its efforts to prevent any issue
from being used against the party and hinder its efforts to recapture
Kelantan.
More than 1,000 branch members from Pengkalan Chepa and Pasir Mas
divisions organised a show of support and loyalty by reading out a
pledge of support for Abdullah.
The show of support comes ahead of talk that Dr Mahathir would visit
Kelantan on July 28.//Thestar

sampai bila2..ari tu kata tak boleh..nape ari ni bulih pulak Datuk...
apa gerangan mimpi agaknya Datuk dari negeri hang tuah ni boleh
sampai ke Kelantan....acara tak rasmi agaknya...takpa..datuk bulih
mari dan datuk boleh beli budu banyak2 balik melaka mana tau satu
hari negeri melaka dan kelantan akan terjalim erat kerana budu ..budu

MELAKA LARANG LAWATAN RASMI KE KELANTAN DAN
TERENGGANU
MELAKA, 6 April (Bernama) -- Kerajaan negeri Melaka telah
menguatkuasakan larangan kepada semua jabatan dan agensinya daripada
mengadakan lawatan rasmi ke Kelantan dan Terengganu. Ketua Menteri
Datuk Wira Mohd Ali Rustam berkata surat pekeliling mengenai arahan
itu akan dikeluarkan tidak lama lagi dan larangan itu turut melibatkan
anak-anak syarikat milik agensi kerajaan negeri.
"Larangan itu bagaimanapun tidak merangkumi lawatan tidak rasmi
seperti melancong atau berziarah," katanya kepada pemberita di sini,
hari ini.
