Bonding with the Japanese

KOTA BARU was recently invaded by samurais and Japanese taikok
performers who took part in a demonstration at the state handicraft
village.

The event, organised by the 21 Century Malaysia-Japan Friendship Alumni
Association, was held in conjunction with a Japanese festival in
Kelantan to mark the 50th anniversary of Ma-laysia-Japan diplomatic
relations.

Association vice president Datuk Ibrahim Mat Zain said the event was to
showcase the cultural diversity of both countries.

A group of taikok per- formers performed six songs to a capitivated
audience.

Kota Baru is a twin city of Kasoka in Japan.//Thestar
