Of course, as a central place for users to find the finished translations, this is a great idea.
That was exactly the point: of course we'd need another place to develop the project.
BTW, are the translations on your site automatic conversions from Italian POD files, or do you create the HTML by hand? [...]
I use a hacked version of pod2html to produce those "fancy" html files (IMO pod2html would deserve an interface to some templating system, but this is another issue). The html files are automatically generated by a cronjob from the ASCII .pod files in the CVS repository provided by Sourceforge. We use E<> for characters like è, é and so on. I don't know if this is good for other languages (I think not).
I've only to maintain a hash table that records pod -> author couples. That's all. In the repository we have also a glossary and a guideline doc, to help the translators and to provide a way to keep the translations coherent (terminology, style, etc.)
