This makes sense as an implementation apart from the consideration
of tuits.

Aw, come on, this is just giving up. Besides, I think Dan and I
agreed that part of this could be alleviated, although we seem
to disagree on how much so.

Oh, okay. If the Great Pumpkin[1] says so, so will I do. I just
hate to see the ideas brought up here tossed aside. Each person
with whom I've discussed this has some good ideas and some valid
points. A good threading model is an important thing to have if
the language is to support threads. I thought this would warrant
some discussion. Perhaps I'll set up a list specifically for this
topic -- perhaps even abstracted from Perl, and covering different
ways to tackle this in a programming language in general.

Well, so much for this thread[2].

[1] No disrespect intended. 'Great Pumpkin' is a reference to
 a Peanuts cartoon, one of which I have fond memories watching.
 The 'pumpkin', 'pumpking', and 'pumpkin holder' titles have
 always reminded me of this.
