I know this is off the Perl subject, but one last comment. There is a MS Knowledge
base article Q130914 covering registry size and SAM size. I have performed stress
testing on the new PDC and BDCs with cloned images on a dark network and received good
results with a SAM of around 65MB. The hardware was PII 233 with 128MB RAM. I used
the "Win32::Authentication" to stress test a loop of authentications. It handled 1000
auths in 39 seconds. I also used Perl to create 1000 groups with 500 users in each
group which took 11 hours to finish but completed successfully. Ok, I will shut up
about the NT stuff.
