No it doesn't use threads. That is its big advantage over MetuxMPM. But
the config scripts/makefiles/... are a bit messy. There are some
assumptions like "if the name is worker or perfork then it is
non-threaded else it is threaded". If our patch doesn't add the
"peruser" name to these decisions it might get it wrong. It there a
particular error message you get on startup?
