Hello,

Our answer is based on the project we’ve made of our IPM. There had never been any bug data collection/IPM prior to this. And we were flatly told there was no bug problem…nice try.

Over the course of 2019, we (the preservation department) checked over 100 traps weekly for the sole purpose of data gathering. In 2020, we moved to monthly as the solutions haven’t been applied yet. I want us to have solutions in place and to have been shown as effective before we move to quarterly. But quarterly is the goal.

I’m trying to use the data to convince the higher ups that we need better environmental controls. In this time of budget constraints, that might not be an option.

I have a question about de frequency of checking and replacing the blundertraps. What is the ideal monitoring frequency?

Are you doing it weekly, monthly or maybe just every 3 months (because of switching seasons) and what are the reasons of this frequency?
