Sorry, I probably overinterpret, after trying for so long to understand other languages, including lawyer-English. > Established = I've heard of it :-) Maybe you are your own nation-state! > > http://business.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,9075-2051196,00.html > > This does raise an issue, and that is mainly that the lady in question > (and maybe the whole of Trading Standards) have no idea about licensing > in general. [...] This isn't just in Trading Standards. It's also common in education, with scare posters and bad information about when you can and can't copy displayed in schools and colleges. See http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/fsfe-uk/2004-08/msg00013.html for some examples. I don't understand why these are usually displayed in libraries. Librarians have been some of the most knowledgeable non-lawyers I've met, so I would have expected them to see through the lies. On a related note, the FOSSLib HOWTO is back online again at http://mjr.towers.org.uk/proj/libraries/ - if it's useful or if anyone wants to contribute, let me know and I'll link, apply docbook patches and/or speed up opening the development.
