Sounds like you'll fit right in!
We do a lot of LAMP stuff here ourselves (for P=PHP). Most of our stuff
is moving towards Debian derivatives (eg Ubuntu) but having XGL in SuSE
might get me playing with that again.

SuSE 10.1: I'd just download it but I guess from your comments about
broadband that this is non-trivial for you; I'm sure we could get that
onto a DVD for you in time for the meeting though. Hardware: what are
you after? Broadband: again depends what you want; we use The Phone Coop
here because (a) they're a co-operative and I like the way that feels
and (b) we're an agent of theirs so I get a small cut! NTL are
reasonable if you have no need for support and they cover your area (I
use them at home). NTLs network is simpler than ADSL so you're less
likely to need tech support. On the other hand I'd avoid a big-name ADSL
provider as they tend to mess with things (dynamic IP, enforced proxies,
for example) and have no idea what Linux is. (TPC don't mess around and
do seem to understand Linux, although they're not the cheapest.)
NB: TPC will be free-upgrading customers to 8M ADSL where it is
available soon, but will be replacing "unlimited" connections with ones
with "high" limits, although I don't know yet what those limits are.

We need to get that site sorted - thanks for the indirect reminder.
Next meeting is 30th May (last Tuesday), and will probably be at our
workshop in Belgic Sq:

I say probably because I may suggest having a one-off meeting at a local
school who have expressed an interest in learning about Linux, but I
haven't discussed that with them yet.
