Hi Al, I have zero knowledge about usb modems (or indeed pci modems in general) so cannot help with getting them working...
...however I do have an old (still working) USRobotics serial modem (gotta love hardware modems ;-) )that you can have if you want. It maybe just the thing to get you onto the internet - although it will restricted you to the speed of 56k modem. I can bring it with me to the next meeting if you want? Stuart, i am a newbie Linux user who is backsliding. i have installed Ubuntu on an old machine but have no access to the net (USB MODEM) so am struggling. all your suggestions would be great, especially newbies to Linux, a Forum would be great news for myself. Anyway, good luck and hopefully we'll meet up at some point?
