Hi All

I did try to get a forum going some time ago but at that time there was
little or no interest in it by the members. The preference seemed to be for
the mailing list although I think an RSS feed was discussed as another
preference at the time but never got off the ground..

I have some limited html skills and would be happy to be happy to at least
try and keep the current site up to date if that would help. I seem to
remember that there was a problem accessing the files for the site last time
we discussed this - is this still the case? All we need is for a few of us
to have access and we can all keep it up to date. It doesn't have to be too
demanding - we can work on a new design as we go along.

Stuart has suggested some great idea's which I certainly feel are worthy of
further discussion. May I suggest a social type meeting, perhaps in a couple
of weeks ( and at a suitable real ale establishment) :) so that we can chat
informally about the way forward an bring in idea's from all members as to
how they want to see things develop. Things have been stagnating for a while
now so it is perhaps a good time to make this a more exciting year for us
all.

In fact lets take the bull by the horns and make a date now - how does next
Wednesday (7th) 7 to 7.30 at a pub of someone else's suggestion sound?

Anybody up for it?

Stu

Hi Al,

I have zero knowledge about usb modems (or indeed pci modems in
general) so cannot help with getting them working...

...however I do have an old (still working) USRobotics serial modem
(gotta love hardware modems ;-) )that you can have if you want. It
maybe just the thing to get you onto the internet - although it will
restricted you to the speed of 56k modem.

I can bring it with me to the next meeting if you want?

Regards

Stuart
