Agreed about the menu issue comment - but ten minutes to re-configure that is nothing especially when it does allow you to use both Gnome and KDE software. Best of both worlds i would say, and why do it - because you can!

Are you just referring to the Kubuntu CD that you request from
Canonical or all Kubuntu install CD's?  I have been using the .iso
from cdimage.ubuntu.com and have not experienced this problem.

/*sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop* /
or *
/sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop/

If you choose this option, you also have to update your menus so that
they will not display both gnome and kde programs (unless you want to
see both).  I do have to say that this is a nice option if you are not
for sure which desktop manager you like.
