agreed the 
pfc_w_master 
        -> w_master 
                -> pfc_w_sheet 
                        -> w_sheet
scenario can cause problems, but what alternatives are there?  Replicating
all the master class code in a series of fat master windows classes, eg
pfc_w_master_response -> w_response
pfc_w_master_sheet -> w_sheet.

I can remember some of the frameworks floating around pre - pfc and pfc is
so much superior to them.  

What are the other frame works you mentioned which avoid these problems (
proprietry or off the shelf ) and can you give more technical details of
implementations you mentioned which change the PFC layer to eliminate the
cross layer dependencies.
