Not sure how you got a proxies question from the message you replied to, so
I am going to assume it's unrelated.  If I am wrong, please forgive me.

A proxy is used in distributed powerbuilder and for transaction servers.  To
the best of my knowledge, a proxy can only be built over a non visual
object.

Essentially, a proxy is simply the interface definition to the NVO (i.e. the
function call definitions and public variables).  Since the object itself is
not on the local machine (it is running in the DPB server or the transaction
server), the local client needs to know how to talk to the object on the
server.
