In my case, DMA is enabled, but the rest is not:

/dev/hda:
 multcount    = 16 (on)
 IO_support   =  0 (default 16-bit)
 unmaskirq    =  0 (off)
 using_dma    =  1 (on)
 keepsettings =  0 (off)
 readonly     =  0 (off)
 readahead    = 256 (on)
 geometry     = 38760/16/63, sectors = 39070080, start = 0

Lucky you :-) In my case, I have to enable 32-bit IDE interface
and IRQ unmasking. I have been working with them enabled
for months with no problems. This is on a pretty new i845
motherboard and IBM disks which should support almost
anything.
