Merle, if your Stanton 78 stylus has a black plastic shell, it's a 2.7 mil, the standard size Stanton offers. It should be fine for basic use. If you really want to get fancy, log on to KAB (www.kabusa.com) and check out Kevin's custom size styli. They probably aren't necessary for your use, but you may want to try something either smaller or larger (say a 2.3 or a 3.3) as an alternate, sometimes a huge difference can be heard. The bottom line is always the condition of your discs, though and since the material used on LWs isn't always great quality to begin with, you may find it difficult to get great sound from them.
I, for example, have six different sized 78 styli for my uses, but again, it's probably way more than you need! Good luck!
