It happens ALL the time... No apologies necessary...  And in this hobby,
there are VERY few women, so the mistake is natural.  The funniest story
I have is when I was starting as a freshman at Oberlin College (pretty
liberal in its day).  We all got our rooming and roommate assignments
from the Dean of Men's office (for some reason there was no Dean of
Women).   I didn't worry about the source of the assignment once I
discovered that my roommate was named "Lynn Catherine", but she and her
parents had an uneasy summer until they met me...

Wonders...  It's simply a function of liking them...
