I rebuilt my HMV no. 4 recently just using the white gasket material used on 
Exhibitions, et al and had wondeful results!  I think the original gasket 
was one piece that fit around the entire mica.  It was about the same 
thickness as the red ones used in Victrola No. 2s.  As I said, the white 
gaskets worked just great on mine.
