Aye, but then again, I've heard people refer to their 1960's stereo Magnavox
console as 'the victrola'.  Alannah Myles didn't help matters in the late
80's when she sang "Jimmie Rodgers on the victrola up high..." in "Black
Velvet".  DD phonos had a volume control of sorts, but...
