I remember something from ebay about feedback sort of being re-set after a
year, i.e., dropping off any feedback (including its effect on total) after 12
mos...a kind of rotating feedback (like they do with cell phones minute
carry-overs which drop off after 12 mos.). Did they make this a rule? I
searched for an answer on ebay and could not find it!!

If this is now the policy, then feedback is only good for what shows for the
previous 12 months. Anything before that, no matter how BAD, is essentially
eraced! If a seller behaves him/herself for 12 mos., they can lose any bad
feedback.

Feedback NEVER was any good. It still isn't. So: Either buy really CHEAP (super
duper bargain) and be prepared for a disappointment, or buy only from people
you know personally, like from emails, chat groups, off-ebay deals, or by
reputation...known experts, or folks very "involved" in their products.

Ger (been "bit" too many times to count)

Subject: Re: [Phono-L] First Time Bit By Ebay Seller

Hello Phono-Friends! Hope all are well. I just wanted to let you know to
never get complacent when buying on ebay. I have been an ebay seller for 10
years, and a buyer longer than that. Several weeks ago I bidded on and won
the
bid on an item. I really forgot about the item until something reminded me
of
it. After about three weeks, I went into 'my ebay' and went to the item that
I
had bought. To my surprise, the seller had gone from a 96% feedback rate to
a rating of 54%! Needless to say, I still have not received my item and the
seller will not respond to emails. Just yesterday I went in to give the
proper
negative feedback and was denied access due to the fact that ebay removes a
seller once the seller receives a negative 4 rating. The feedbacks that were
posted are very nasty about the seller.

I paid by Paypal and the investigation is underway. Paypal sent me a letter
informing me that they will make all efforts to get the money back, but they
make no guarantees. I thought ebay and Paypal will get your money back up to
a
certain amount. This is evidently not the case. Again, buyers beware!

The point of this story is this...

Only buy from reputable sellers. Never take that 100% feedback for granted.
I guess I have done pretty well as this is the first time that I have ever
  been taken by a seller.

Beware, there are robbers out there and they are not just lurking in the
  banks!

  Have a wonderful weekend.
