Hi all. On one of the phonograph forums I had a "Wanted" notice indicating I was looking for a Victrola Orthophonic 8-9 motor. I received a response from a Brian Kidd. His email is [email protected] . This one has all the red flags waving. He keeps spelling his own name incorrectly for one. He is located in Italy and wants a money gram or western union payment and his pricing is way out of line i.e. not even reasonable. He wanted 690 euro or more than $900 for a motor of which, of course, he had " in stock. Playing along, I asked for pictures. None have been provided (surprise). Anyone else familar with this individual? I would assume he is responding to other people looking for items. Just for a final amusement, I sent him an email stating I would most certainly send a western union for the full amount once I received the product. I am waiting for my reply. Beware.
