hi all we have had that problem here a lot in florida the police recommend you meet at the police dept to do your exchange if you buy from craigs list In a message dated 1/14/2011 9:08:28 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes:
Beware of Craigslist also... the old saying "If it sounds too good to be true..." You might find a bargain, but be careful. On that note, a collector from NC just found a Regina-Phone for $1,200, so you never know. Also, if you list on Craigslist - NEVER meet someone at your house - if you are going to meet, go to McDonald's or a public place. A friend of mine had a number of high end phonographs stolen from his home because of that. Fortunately, he got the NC SBI involved and they recovered all but one, just a day before they were leaving the country. > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Date: Fri, 14 Jan 2011 19:05:43 -0500 > Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Potential Fraud - Beware (?) > > > Before eBay hid the buyers ID I bid on an Alva to see the final price and get photos. He keeps avoiding my request for a picture to validate whether it is a correct one. It seems there are scammers scouring the various boards on the net including phonograph forums. I prefer to keep to those I am familar with. > > > > Ron > > > > --- On Fri, 1/14/11, Ron L'Herault <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > > > From: Ron L'Herault <[email protected]> > > Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Potential Fraud - Beware (?) > > To: "'Antique Phonograph List'" <[email protected]> > > Date: Friday, January 14, 2011, 1:49 PM > > > > > > Did you ever get the motor?
