You know what? Todd's blog post was about him, and his faith journey. He posted it as his way of dealing with the journey that he was on. If it helped others in their journey, fantastic! I don't hear any pontification! It was not about you and your atheistic/agnostic beliefs.
I respect your opinion, but this was not the time to express it! Funny how self centered and callous the non-believer can be. I don't recall any one asking your opinion about religiosity as we morn the passing of a friend and fellow collector! With all due respect! He saw no evidence of a kindly, merciful being which oversaw Nature and the world. (Think of Mina trying to get him to attend a service to thank God for victory in Cuba. "Shouldn't we also thank God for the yellow fever which killed our soldiers?", he asked. ) I see Life as an opportunity & obligation to get through our years without being nasty, cruel, thoughtless, greedy, etc - but we WILL be those things at some point, and can only try to make up for that & maybe leave the world a tiny bit better than when we entered. Being decent doesn't require a mythical father-figure floating in the sky. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen Madara" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, May 10, 2011 8:36 PM Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Todd Augsburger > If you have a chance read his blog where he discusses his struggles and > faith coping with ALS ( Lou Gehrig's Disease ). _______________________________________________ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.oldcrank.org _______________________________________________ Phono-L mailing list http://phono-l.oldcrank.org
