I am not sure if JavaScript is a really good idea in this case because if the user has JavaScript turned off, what will happen? I believe the HTTP_REFERRER is the best. Not sure the exact syntax of that either.
Another question pops up. What will happen now if the user does not log in? If a session has not been started, it shouldn't be displaying anything (or redirect to the login page). Sessions is probably the way to go...
