The latest version of ADODb supports odbtp. You can get it at http://odbtp.sourceforge.net. There are 2 versions of the ADODb driver: odbtp and odbtp_unicode. The problem you are having is caused by the inability of the ODBC driver to provide what the desired information. The FreeTDS ODBC driver still needs some more work. The odbtp extension currently provides the most complete support for SQL Server 2000.
