Ok, so I was generalizing. :) But as I've been reading the list, there have been developers that have replied to some of the "duplicate" bug reports with: "Duplicate of bug # XXXXX, please search the bugs before posting a bug report." Granted, many of these people aren't looking through the bug reports, but some may be, and a comment like the above may get someone irritated enough to not bother posting additional information because they know they'll just be turned away. I know that, at times, I've been put off when posting a bug because it felt like I was being a "bad person" when informing someone of a legitimate bug. Regardless, perhaps (I've heard mention of a possible new bug reporting interface) the new interface could link bugs together. Maybe allow a new user to reply to a bug report (creating a ne w report with a new ID but "linking" it to the original) with their own information, thus allowing additional people to join in the conversation. Whatever it takes, it's nice to make people feel good about posting legitimate bugs. (And don't ask me how to get all the bogus bug postings out of there - I don't have an answer for that. <G>) Jaime Bozza -- PHP Development Mailing List <http://www.php.net/> To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list administrators, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
