Hello!

My name is Chris Tankersley, and I'm looking at joining the Core Committee
for the FIG.

I've been the Sculpin representative for more than a year now, and while
not as active on the mailing list as some of the other nominees, it has
been my job to keep an eye on what the FIG project has been doing and make
Sculpin's needs and wishes known on list. I've been more active outside of
the list, talking about FIG informally at conferences and being part of the
in-face meetings that have happened at most of the US conferences. For
example, I was in the original meetings a year ago helping craft the
Secretary positions as well as the abandonment rules that are coming into
effect with FIG 3.0.

For those of you that don't know me outside of FIG, I'm a PHP developer. I
run a few smaller projects that are not represented by the FIG, primarily
the PHP Mentoring website/application. I also maintain the
mtdowling/cron-expression package and maintain a few themes and plugins for
Sculpin. I've also got little bits and patches all over the place.

I'm and author and a speaker on a multitude of subjects in the PHP
community, most notably with Docker. I've been exposed to a variety of
problems and technologies for my 12 years as a PHP developer so I've spoken
and written about Zend Expressive, code performance, system administration,
Drupal, Aura, and many other topics. I've worked on internal applications,
client projects, SaaS projects, and many others.

So what am I bringing to the table?

* 12 years of PHP and programming experience
* Many, many years working with the PHP community at large
* A want to make standards that help the general PHP developer
* A willingness to make and keep FIG a viable, respected standards group
for PHP

I hope that this helps inform anyone that doesn't know much about it. I'm
also happy to field any other questions :)
