I use it night and day. 6.5.2 has syntax coloring for PHP, Perl, Python, JavaScript, HTML, XML, about a dozen other languages too. Runs native in OS X. Also you can use emacs if you have OS X, it's already installed. But I prefer BBEdit. BBEdit is only $79 if you "upgrade" to it from BBEdit Lite, which is the free version available at BareBones.com. I asked the BareBones folks how they verify that someone actually has BBEdit Lite since this is free, and they said they don't -- you just tell them you want the discount for the upgrade. There is also a full version demo of BBEdit that has all of the features, which works for 25 days or something like that. Check it out, I did and promptly ordered my copy within a few days.
