    Absolutely.  I would definitely like to see this entire section
removed.  Unless we're linking to core PHP alternatives for specific
platforms that we don't cover (for example, if someone ported PHP to
Commodore 64 or a Casio wristwatch), much like the original section
for MacOS, I don't see any real benefit for us or for the community.
Sure, it helps the projects themselves by adding some exposure, but
then it also appears as though we, as a whole, endorse their work ---
which is actually against our own license.

    A similar discussion (regarding removal) has on occasion come up
for the "thanks" page, as well.  And while it really burns my ass that
people will come right out and say, "tell us what we can do to get
listed on your thanks page," I suppose we have to keep it unless we
contact each individual entity and tell them that we're going to
discontinue it.  Besides, for the most part, the entities listed there
certainly don't need our linking to them for exposure, and those who
blatantly outright ask - sometimes even demand - to be listed there
are only finding a creative way of circumventing our advertising
policies.
