Yeah there is more to that dilemma,
#1 they didnt want VBA Integration into there sheets and
workbooks takes up to much room they said
#2 Didnt want any linkages to sheets on a webpage, just file
shares to a folders 160 of em
#3 total Backwards attitude I wasnt wasting 1 Ounce of
knowledge on explaining anything to them,
Just told them No Im really not interested and
walked out,

ChiliSoft makes an ASP Interpreter for LINUX , it runs well
A lot of Organizations want Dot Net Interoperability I havent seen Linux
Provide Solutions for that
Most School Districts Ive ran into run some Crappy Proprietary Vendor
Machine, DELL IBM Gateway etc
so a Industry Standard PC would have made them happy w/ service Contract
WAYYY under anyone else
I would have migrated there system to a brand new PC with windows2000 server
using /PHP/ MySQL/ Perl/ tcl / and ASP.Net

I see this often myself. They want something "better" but that is also
the exact same as they have. Local school district called me because
they wanted to change some things. They needed a more stable system, one
with less down time, one that cost them less. I put them on Ubuntu, set
up a single system that did everything they had on Windows - except it
didnt have a single problem the entire time they had it.
They had asp problems that I couldnt help with so I redid their system
with php and installed mysql. I just worked with what I knew.
In the end they have, so far, stayed with their old system. Why? Because
they know it. It might break down all the time, not do what they want -
be years and years outdated, but they know it.
Sounds like you faced the same problem.
