I think you could also give it a try with the current 64bit version. I may be wrong, but what it means is that if you have more than 2Gb RAM, a 32bit system cannot address them and therefore you need 64bit, unless you enable big memory support that slows down the 32-bit system (that is what I recall from the time, but again, I may be wrong).
