Mariadb cluster is a disaster, it lags with old unpactched code, and has 
multiple critical bugs.

For stand alone mysql, you wont get better and more stable than mariadb

randomly crash when a SQL statement was executed but that appears to have been 
fixed in the latest release.  Main entry needed to make was 
wsrep_forced_binlog_format=ROW and since then all has been okay. I appreciate
