I suspect it might be something along the lines of not reading or saving the mysql password entry correct if it contains special characters such as "&" or "$" or "%"

Looks like the error is caused by some wrong arguments in the prepared
statements.

yes, that's my bet as well. I'd double check the sql stuff, and add some loggging
to understand which query generates such an error.
