Great idea, I've sent them an e-mail and will be happy to share the results.

I've asked a few other developers but never get very good responses.
I'm not so concerned about a single application (even though I do rely
on it), but the trend to not provide a companion application on the
desktop for applications.

Someone mentioned working on GNU Keyring. That would be an excellent
idea. Right now there is a perl script that you can supposedly use to
dump the contents of the database (I haven't been able to get it to work
yet). But, from the description it doesn't appear that you can edit the
database.

Does anyone know why j-pilot and the gnome-pilot use different backup
directories. Wouldn't it be helpful if a standard for the location of
the Palm backup and synchronization directory could be agreed to? Then,
however you backup/synch, other programs could be used on the same data?

Thanks for all the interesting comments.

Tom
