Hi Edward,
Ditching the simple timeline has my vote. (I'm a nobody, my only value
probably is that my feedback is based on my profession as an avid editor)
However, as in avid, I would like to have the ability to save out different
views on the timeline. It's always the same timeline, but I can store the
height of the tracks, I can store the color of the tracks, I can store
whether I want to see thumbnails or not. I found that this is very usefull
and I usually always have 2 settings: 1 for video, when I'm at the rough
cutting stage I like to have thumbnails and big fat video tracks, and one
for audio, where I reduce the video layer to a minimum and have my audio
tracks set big so I can easily put audio keyframes.
If this idea is too big to implement right away, I would rather like to see
1 hardcoded view for the next release, keeping in mind that this view could
expand to being user adjustable.
I admire your work so far.
