Hi Meri, thanks for your reply. I have never been tested for hypoglycemia or insulin resistance beyond the urine dipstick. I am at a dead end in Co. I can relate to the blindness in one eye for 5 minutes. Happened to me in Walgreens. I just stood there wondering what to do. I no longer call a doc when I have new symptoms, even when common sense would dictate it. I can't begin to describe how sloppy the medical care here is. Although I having been hearing from other relatives who have been having a lot of problems with care in the last six months. Since I have been 'relatively' pain free I haven't explored any more drugs. I'll keep the Indo on a list. It seems my 'situation' waxes and wanes. There are times when it seems the bone growth is is fast and incredibly painful and at other time times slow. When it is slow I manage pretty well. The glasses I bought extra large for my face are now fitting normally. Good news is there isn't much pain. I know I associate most of my condition with pain as the indicator, but it correlates well with what is going on. Your info on ocular migraines is a bummer, I haven't found much info either. I take Magnesium for bowel movements and that is about it. On another note, I came accross an article on topiramate. I believe some of the members take it for migraines. It can be found at www.medscape.com/neurologyhome The title of the article is Topiramate Decreases Serum Bicarbonate. Something to do with a high rate of acidosis.
