Hi Kris:

I never heard of clomid feeding the tumor, but I have heard of estrogen (or birth control) feeding it.  Although, now people are told they can stay on BC and still be fine, so it is a tad confusing.  My Gyno (who was a specialist) told me that I would have to be monitored closly when on Clomid, but if my vision or my overall well being didn't change, it would be fine.  I stayed on bromocriptine and the clomid and felt good, but maybe not everyone would????

I never had a weight issue (as I have always eaten healthy) until my tumor appeared.  Now I can't lose anything.  Since going on bromo, I have lost some, so obvously the screwy hormones are what is holding up the weight loss.  I know a lot of pit patients have the same complaint (no matter how much they exercise or what their age is).  I truly believe that higher prolactin  levels(prolactinoma) equal high body fat and inability to lose weight.  I have always been fatigued and out of breath, especially after taking my pills.

I take provera pills or prometrium to bring on my period.  I wanted to take the cream, but my doc. didn't think it was researched enough.  The provera always works, but I can only use it every 3 months as it is too hard on the body to take it for a normal monthly period.  Provera/bromocriptine/clomid is what I took to become pregnant.  Now that I am done with children, I want something that I feel is safer, as I will be taking this for the rest of my life.  Prometrium (more natural product) hasn't worked yet, but I just got a prescription for a stronger dose of it, so I am trying that right now.   I have never used the cream yet, even though i did buy some.

Hope this helps

p.s.  my periods were never very painful and lasted only 5-7 days when on Provera.  I don't know if the differerent prescriptions cause different amounts of pain???
