Dear Lawana, Your daughter may have a cyst on one side of her thyroid --she should get this checked into. The blood work could still return normal -- but if the cyst starts to press on her larynx, she'd need to get the fluid in it aspirated out with a needle. Also, her doc may want to send the fluid away for testing to make sure it's not carcinogenic. A blood test for thyroid levels would not show this either. I have a cyst on one sie - when it gets too fleld with fluid, it feels like a lump when I swallow. I have had the fluid taken out several times -- but my bloodwork is always normal for thyroid levels. lamorna451 |
