Hi Holly, Usually they ultrasound the thyroid, not MRI the thyroid. I can understand your worry though. ![]() . You don't need to get your whole brain MRI'd unless your doctor is concerned about other issues that may have been picked up with a neurological exam. Goggy, I'm glad you got your second opinion. I suppose that you have a prolactinoma. In some cases, the tumors do shrink to nothingness with the medication. It is true that the tumor isn't big enough to cause headaches, but it could be a possibility that your hormonal imbalance could be behind your headaches. You have to be careful how your word things - lol. If the tumor becomes large (over 1 cm) and grows to press on the optic chiasm<o:p></o:p>, it can cause loss in the peripheral<o:p></o:p> vision. In many cases, the vision is restored once the tumor is removed, but if the tumor is not removed, or not removed timely, the vision loss can be permanent. Minnie |
