Most people I know with thyroid problems, in order to feel like a human being and not a zombie, need to have their TSH low, their Free T4 and Free T3 At least mid-range but preferrably high. Now with us that have pituitary problems on top of that - we need to disregard the TSH as it is USELESS and just find out where we feel good Free T4 & Free T3 wise - keep a chart of what dose and what # your Free T4 & Free T3 are at each dose and how you feel. Once you hit a dose where you feel good - get labwork done and find out what your # are. Then FIGHT to stay there. Some people feel good with #'s slightly over range. The problem with T3 over range long term is - it can cause heart damage and bone density problems - you need to be aware of that and if you decide to keep yours over range - have that monitor :)). Selenium helps with T4 to T3 conversion - you may want to take some 200mg but not over 200 to see it that will help how you feel. Over 200 and you can develop toxicity problems.

Hi,
Just wanted to mention some late developments with me and my thyroid. Dr. Friedman changed my meds twice since I started seeing him. He took me from the top of the range on the Ft3 and Ft4 to the lower end of the range. He told me the tsh is useless with a pituitary tumor but continues to have it tested. Wondering why? Does anyone have there ft3 out of the lab range on the high end in order to feel better. These recent changes had a major effect on how I felt, going more downhill than I am. Looks like the hgh will be approved soon, also will start testosterone which is low. I miss chat, but I have not felt like chimming in. God Bless All!
Frannie
Thanks,
